Meira is the mother of the Lykos breed, producing some amazing quality Lykos puppies from 2 litters who are very well achieved as therapy, scent detection and service dogs. She is easy going, very well trained, predictable with a soft nature, fitting in perfectly with our young family. She loves attention and being involved in everything going on. She is brilliant when meeting other dogs, very polite and friendly.
Unfortunately we have not yet utilised any of her female offspring in our breeding program in a manner of our choice, so in order to preserve and go on with a female Meira bloodline, we have had one last litter with her under veterinary supervision.
Fen (Wolfden Bjorn Ironside) is a stunning and large agouti Lykos boy, bred by our friends over at Wolfden Kennels. Fen is very placid, easy-going and a lovely example of the breed. Thank you to his breeder Tom from Wolfden Kennels and his co-owner Paul for this fantastic opportunity!
This combination is the FIRST time any Lykos kennels have crossed their foundation lines!
Puppies are all tentatively reserved with prior applicants.
If we have litters advertised as "available", please download our Puppy Questionnaire by clicking the above link. Download, then save it as a new document with your name and send it to us at email@example.com
Don't forget to read all the information below before enquiring!
Lykosia proudly stand by their breeding program with experience and confidence by offering the very best health and genetic guarantees available with each and every puppy bred.
We are proud to be mentors for other Australian breeders and see that many have followed the precedent we have set over the years.
Our puppies are all sold under a strict contract which means that the dog cannot be used for breeding without our express, written permission and under the constraints of our Puppy Sale Agreement.
If a puppy is deemed by us as a "breeding" or "potential breeding" animal, for the purpose of the future development of the breed, our co-ownership contract applies, where we work together and plan one litter with the puppy once it is of age and has passed all health testing requirements. All resulting puppies of our exclusive bloodlines are the property of Lykosia kennels and cannot be used by any other person or breeder, unless a written agreement is entered into by other experienced and registered breeders of the Lykos Wolfalike Council of Australia. Under no circumstances will we allow our dogs or our exclusive bloodlines to ever be used in any backyard breeding program. Our contracts will be legally enforced should this happen.
Our experience in creating stunning quality dogs is sheer proof that when the right combination of lines are artfully and strategically selected, with health, temperament and genetics as the main focus you can achieve success! 20+ years with breed improvement as our passion, we have the knowledge and experience to back our dogs up.
Our commitment to you is to provide you with a top quality Lykos puppy, whose parents/grandparents etc have been hip/elbow x-rayed, temperament tested and fully DNA screened against every possible disease or trait available. This commitment is made to you in writing in our of Puppy Sale Agreement and Guarantee.
A piece of our heart and soul is put into each puppy we breed, so each one is very special to us. We use a vigorous screening process and only suitable homes are allowed to get a pup from us. We care about where our puppies go, how they are raised and kept.
We have great relationships with our puppy owners and like to see it as them joining our Lykosia family! Our owners and their dogs develop long lasting friendships with us and other owners, and this is why we call it our "Lykosia family"!
If your application has passed the first stage (satisfactory online application) and you have submitted all your information and preferences for a puppy, we email you more information and our puppy pack and puppy sale agreement. We do not shortlist any application that exceeds the number of puppies available.
After you get a chance to review the puppy sale agreement and info pack, we arrange a telephone chat and interview to confirm your application. This gives you a chance to ask as many questions as you like and gives us an opportunity to further review your suitability for a pup!
We can then accept your deposit which secures you for a puppy. We put a lot of time and effort into our screening and shortlisting process, which includes turning away people who miss out. Should you cancel your reservation on your puppy, and do not wish to wait for our next litter, your deposit becomes non-refundable. So please only apply for a puppy if you are truly keen and ready for a puppy to enter your family.
We use Jetpets for interstate transport, which includes the flight and crate hire. Pups are authorised to fly after they reach 8 weeks old and require a "fit to fly" certificate from an authorised vet, (if flying with Qantas). These certificates are arranged at our vet at the buyer's expense. For most states of Australia, flight and crate hire cost is between $150-250 depending on which state you live in as well as pick up/drop off availability. You will need to book your pup's flight directly with Jetpets, and if you mention our name, you will receive a discount.
Compared to other similar breeds, who do none/less health testing, no pedigrees or even lifetime health guarantees by the breeder, our prices are quite reasonable.
We back up our reasonable prices with genetic guarantees for the lifetime of the dog, rebates and knowledge that our bloodlines are extremely sound in health.
All our puppies are and are raised in a home environment (not a kennel). Puppies are $2500-$3500 each, which includes;
Full guarantee against hip & elbow dysplasia and all other hereditary diseases for the lifetime of your puppy
Their first vaccination (done at 6 weeks old)
Desexing (rebate provided upon desexing)
Microchipped and vet checked
Videos and photos available which document their growth from birth
Are hand-raised in a loving, clean family indoor home until they are old enough to be outside
Subjected to Early Neurological Stimulation (handling and light stress during the first few weeks) and exposed to all normal house hold noises. They are raised with toys, and learn how to determine safe obstacles such as wading pools and play tunnels etc
Toilet training as well as basic obedience training has already began before you take your puppy home, and most will self-train - you just need to help them along with timing (please read up more in our Puppy Info Pack).
We make recommendations on their temperaments at around 6/7 weeks old, but carefully monitor the progress of each pup and their temperament from birth. This makes it easier for you to choose the right puppy for your lifestyle and for us to describe the pups' true nature.

WHAT OUR PUPPY OWNERS SAY...
"Luka is the smartest dog I’ve ever had. She learns SO unbelievably fast. She pretty much toilet trained herself! She’s very trainable, so sweet but not desperate for attention, and she looooves our cats. She’s friendly and sociable with people and other dogs and everyone always asks about her when we take her out ☺️They’re very special dogs!"
"Quinn is 14 months old. Very laid back most of the times, loves to run but has a great recall. Intelligent and trainable. Quinn is trained as a research detection dog and is on his 4th odour which is a lot for such a young dog. I highly recommend these dogs to anyone who wants an intelligent active dog."
"We have had Loken for just over a year now and we couldn't be more in love with our new family member. We have 2 young boys (6 and 8 ) and we had always wondered how they would take to a dog. Loken was our first family pet and we couldn't wait for him and the kids to get to know each other. It took them both a little while to be comfortable around each other but they were instantly all in love! We have included our children in every part of Loken's life from initial puppy visits, vet checks, outings and obedience training. They are so close now that when we go places he protectively watches over them! Even at home, he will constantly roam around and check on them throughout the day. He was definitely the missing piece in our family and his temperament is amazing. He is so chilled out and friendly (just like his brothers and sisters!) that it didn't take long for our boys to see him as another member of the family. There isn't enough good things I can say about the breed and all the help and support from the breeder, Brooke. We are so glad we found Lykosia. We could never pick another breed of dog!"
“My young daughter set up a bed and slept on the floor with Ellie. They slept all night like angels. She didn't pee at all during the night. She doesn't seem to be having any separation anxiety from her mom and her siblings”
"Willow comes to work with me at an aged care facility very often and has been since she was about 9 weeks old. She has a fantastic, loving, caring and outgoing personality. She is great with cats, rats, other dogs, children of all ages. She does like to dig but only pot holes (not husky craters and caves), pot plants, shrubs, spying on the neighbours when sitting in the back decking. These dogs are super intelligent, so very happy and relaxed. I used to have up to 10 huskies when I was racing years ago. I waited over 3 years to get Willow after saying goodbye to my last husky.
I couldn't be happier."
"We now have 2 Lykos boys! Loken is brother to Willow and Quinn. He is SUPER chilled out. He has a lot more shepherd in him, super loyal. We have 2 kids (6 and 8 years old) and whenever we go out, Loken will check everyone out first and find who is most playful but will spend most of his time around our kids. He has no real time for dominance issues. He will remove himself and find someone playful. I cannot fault his temperament!"
"We have had Shadow for several weeks now and couldn’t be happier. He is intelligent, quick to learn, obedient, friendly, loves a cuddle, social with our other dog, easy to walk, doesn’t bark (but can occasionally have a conversation) amazing with our grandson who has autism, gentle and placid temperament and can entertain himself for hours with his toys. So far no faults at all ! Best thing we ever did!"
I’ve had Bear him for nearly 2 years now. And he’s such a happy and friendly dog! Not one mean bone in his body, he’s never once been aggressive towards any other dogs (even if they’ve been aggressive towards him), and he’s only ever loving to us including my 2 kids under 4. Bear bear loves pats and can’t get enough attention, he doesn’t bark at all too which is a bonus! He’s a high energy dog and needs lots of activity, but otherwise he’s just the best!"
"I've had Caesar for nearly 3 years now! He's very intelligent, responds extremely well to training, is independent and happy. He never chews on anything other than his toys.
Very good with other dogs, very quick and loves agility courses.
He's also a movie star and was in a VW car commercial."
