We are very specific about which dogs we have chosen to contribute to the next Lykos generation, with the other puppies going to great pet homes. We do not take reservations on our puppies until they are born or a few weeks old.
We don't keep waiting lists, so appreciate your patience to ONLY enquire when we have puppies available. We have a litter planned for mid-2021. We will only start to take applications AFTER they are born. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Lykosia proudly stand by their breeding program with confidence, by offering the very best health and genetic guarantees available with each and every puppy bred.
We are proud to be mentors for other Australian breeders and see that many have followed the precedent we have set over the years.
Our experience and producing ability is sheer proof that when the right combination of lines are artfully and strategically selected, with health, temperament and genetics as the main focus you can achieve success.
Our commitment to you is to provide you with a top quality Lykos puppy, whose parents/grandparents etc have been hip/elbow x-rayed, temperament tested and fully DNA screened against every possible disease or trait available. This commitment is made to you in writing in our of Puppy Sale Agreement and Guarantee.
A piece of our heart and soul is put into each puppy we breed, so each one is very special to us. We use a vigorous screening process and only suitable homes are allowed to get a pup from us. We care about where our puppies go, how they are raised and kept.
We have great relationships with our puppy owners and like to see it as them joining our Lykosia family! This is why we host get togethers and social outings. People and their dogs develop long lasting friendships, and this is why we call it our "Lykosia family"!
If your application has passed the first stage (satisfactory online application) and you have submitted all your information and preferences for a puppy, we email you more information and our puppy pack and puppy sale agreement. We do not shortlist any application that exceeds the number of puppies available.
After you get a chance to review the puppy sale agreement and info pack, we arrange a telephone chat and interview to confirm your application. This gives you a chance to ask as many questions as you like and gives us an opportunity to further review your suitability for a pup!
We can then accept your deposit which secures you for a puppy. Should you cancel your reservation on your puppy, and do not wish to wait for our next litter, your deposit becomes non-refundable. So please only apply for a puppy if you are truly keen and ready to add a puppy to your family.
We use Jetpets for interstate transport, which includes the flight and crate hire. Pups are authorised to fly after they reach 8 weeks old and require a "fit to fly" certificate from an authorised vet, (if flying with Qantas). These certificates are arranged at our vet at the buyer's expense. For most states of Australia, flight and crate hire cost is between $150-250 depending on which state you live in as well as pick up/drop off availability. You will need to book your pup's flight directly with Jetpets, and if you mention us as a breeder, you will receive a good discount.
As breeders who have imported dogs and frozen semen several times in the past, we have never recouped the costs of such exercises when pricing our puppies.
All our pups have stayed the same price, regardless if they were locally bred or gotten from Artificial Insemination/Imported etc.
We do not believe in charging huge prices for pets. We back up our reasonable prices with guarantees, rebates and the knowledge that our bloodlines are extremely sound in health.
All our puppies are and are raised in a home environment (not a kennel). Puppies are approximately $2500-$3500 each, which include;
Full guarantee against hip & elbow dysplasia and all other hereditary diseases
Their first vaccination (done at 6 weeks old)
Desexing (Due to our usual vets no longer doing early desexing, we now provide desexing rebates upon certification at 6 months old in the amount we would usually pay for it before they leave us).
Microchipped and vet checked
Videos and photos available which document their growth from birth
Are hand-raised in a loving, clean family indoor home until they are old enough to be outside
Subjected to Early Neurological Stimulation and exposed to all normal house hold noises. They are raised with toys, and learn how to determine obstacles such as wading pools and play tunnels etc
Toilet training as well as basic obedience training has already began before you take your puppy home
We make recommendations on their temperaments at around 6/7 weeks old, but carefully document the progress of each pup and their temperament from birth. This makes it easier for you to choose the right puppy for your lifestyle.

WHAT OUR PUPPY OWNERS SAY...
“I just wanted to let you know that all is going well with Chief and he is settling in very easily. He went the whole night without toileting and never made a sound. This morning he has had some food and lots of water and has been for a poop and wee. He met our chickens this morning too...didn't quite know what to make of them”
"Luka is the smartest dog I’ve ever had. She learns SO unbelievably fast. She pretty much toilet trained herself! She’s very trainable, so sweet but not desperate for attention, and she looooves our cats. She’s friendly and sociable with people and other dogs and everyone always asks about her when we take her out ☺️They’re very special dogs!"
"Quinn is 14 months old. Very laid back most of the times, loves to run but has a great recall. Intelligent and trainable. Quinn is trained as a research detection dog and is on his 4th odour which is a lot for such a young dog. He has a bit of both the husky and gsd personality. I highly recommend these dogs to anyone who wants an intelligent active dog."
"We have had Loken for just over a year now and we couldn't be more in love with our new family member. We have 2 young boys (6 and 8 ) and we had always wondered how they would take to a dog. Loken was our first family pet and we couldn't wait for him and the kids to get to know each other. It took them both a little while to be comfortable around each other but they were instantly all in love! We have included our children in every part of Loken's life from initial puppy visits, vet checks, outings and obedience training. They are so close now that when we go places he protectively watches over them! Even at home, he will constantly roam around and check on them throughout the day. He was definitely the missing piece in our family and his temperament is amazing. He is so chilled out and friendly (just like his brothers and sisters!) that it didn't take long for our boys to see him as another member of the family. There isn't enough good things I can say about the breed and all the help and support from the breeder, Brooke. We are so glad we found Lykosia. We could never pick another breed of dog!"
“My young daughter set up a bed and slept on the floor with Ellie. They slept all night like angels. She didn't pee at all during the night. She doesn't seem to be having any separation anxiety from her mom and her siblings”
"Willow comes to work with me at an aged care facility very often and has been since she was about 9 weeks old. She has a fantastic, loving, caring and outgoing personality. She is great with cats, rats, other dogs, children of all ages. She does like to dig but only pot holes (not husky craters and caves), pot plants, shrubs, spying on the neighbours when sitting in the back decking. These dogs are super intelligent, so very happy and relaxed. I used to have up to 10 huskies when I was racing years ago. I waited over 3 years to get Willow after saying goodbye to my last husky.
I couldn't be happier."
"We now have 2 Lykos boys! Loken is brother to Willow and Quinn. He is SUPER chilled out. He has a lot more shepherd in him, super loyal. We have 2 kids (6 and 8 years old) and whenever we go out, Loken will check everyone out first and find who is most playful but will spend most of his time around our kids. He has no real time for dominance issues. He will remove himself and find someone playful. I cannot fault his temperament!"
"No kids of our own, but Ulric is fantastic with my niece (13) and nephew (6) who are both generally afraid of dogs... he really sensed their apprehensive manner and is incredibly gentle and submissive when approaching them, no jumping, nipping or pawing at all"
"We have had Shadow for several weeks now and couldn’t be happier. He is intelligent, quick to learn, obedient, friendly, loves a cuddle, social with our other dog, easy to walk, doesn’t bark (but can occasionally have a conversation) amazing with our grandson who has autism, gentle and placid temperament and can entertain himself for hours with his toys. So far no faults at all ! Best thing we ever did!"
I’ve had Bear him for nearly 2 years now. And he’s such a happy and friendly dog! Not one mean bone in his body, he’s never once been aggressive towards any other dogs (even if they’ve been aggressive towards him), and he’s only ever loving to us including my 2 kids under 4. Bear bear loves pats and can’t get enough attention, he doesn’t bark at all too which is a bonus! He’s a high energy dog and needs lots of activity, but otherwise he’s just the best!"
"I've had Caesar for nearly 3 years now, he's the dad to at least a couple of these pups!
He's very intelligent, responds extremely well to training, is independent and happy. He never chews on anything other than his toys and will generally only pee on something if another dog has done so first.
Very good with other dogs, very quick and loves agility courses.
He's also a movie star and was in a VW car commercial.
We've also got his brother from another litter Atlas, who is a little over 12 months. He's much more of a people person and loves cuddles. He's also a little more husky than shepherd and is quite vocal when he doesn't get his way. Because he has always had Caesar around, he gets a little anxious when he is left alone, but is happy if he's put into his crate as that's his safe space. He's a little bit dopier than Caesar, but just as trainable and good with other dogs."
